Description from the seller
The Marantz PM 700 AV (often indicated as PM-700) is a vintage integrated amplifier produced in the early 1980s (circa 1980-1981). Although the label "AV" might evoke modern Home Cinema, it is actually a powerful two-channel analog stereo amplifier, designed for pure high-fidelity. Technical Main Features: Output power: 70 + 70 Watts into 8 Ohms Frequency response: 10 Hz ~ 60,000 Hz Total Harmonic Distortion (THD): 0.03% Phono inputs: Supports both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) cartridges with dedicated switches Dimensions: 416 × 146 × 330 mm Weight: About 10 kg, indicating solid construction with a robust power supply.
The Marantz PM 700 AV is a perfect representative of the historic Marantz philosophy of that era. Tone: It is characterized by a warm, musical, and enveloping sound. It is not a clinical or cold amplifier. Mid and high range: Voices come out very natural and silky, while the highs are present but never harsh, making it ideal for long listening sessions without fatigue. Low end: The basses are full, round, and punchy, with excellent control (damping factor 110) that gives great warmth to acoustic instruments and to vinyl.
