Oil on canvas

Includes authenticity certificate issued and signed by the artist
In “The Silence of the Snow,” Luis Enrique González transports us to a moment of deep calm and winter beauty. The work depicts a rural snowy landscape, where a smoking house rises as a warm refuge in the midst of the cold. Bare trees, gentle hills, and a pale blue sky create an atmosphere of serenity and contemplation.
The painting stands out for its ability to convey feelings beyond what is visual. The contrast between the cold snow and the smoke from the chimney evokes sensations of home, protection, and human warmth against the vastness of nature. The path that cuts through the landscape invites a walk, a pause, and a feeling of the silence that only winter can offer.
González achieves with this work a poetic and emotive atmosphere. The soft light that illuminates the snow and the cool tones of the landscape are balanced with the warmth suggested by the smoke, generating a sense of deep peace and nostalgia. It is an image that speaks of the beauty of simplicity, of the harmony between human beings and their environment, and of those moments when time seems to stop.
In recent years, Luis Enrique González has developed the series “Essences of the Landscape,” in which he portrays different scenes of nature and the rural environment with the aim of capturing not only their appearance but the emotion and atmosphere they convey. Each work in this collection is characterized by a special sensitivity to light, color, and silence, seeking to generate in the viewer an intimate and contemplative connection with the landscape. “The Silence of the Snow” is part of this series, which is distinguished by its poetic realism and its ability to evoke feelings of peace, nostalgia, and belonging.
A piece of great sensitivity and serene beauty, ideal for collectors seeking contemporary figurative art with emotional depth and a strong connection to nature and rural life.

The work is carefully shipped protected in a transit tube to ensure its perfect conservation.

Artist Statement — Luis Enrique González

My work is a constant dialogue between light and form, where oil painting becomes a medium to explore the emotional and symbolic depth of reality. I am interested in nature and the human figure not only as visual motifs but as living territories charged with stories, silences, and tensions. Through realism, I seek to reveal what hides in the everyday: fragility, strength, persistence, and the beauty that manifest in gestures, in matter, and in the spaces we inhabit.

Chiaroscuro is, for me, a tool of thought. Through contrast, I find the internal structure of each image, the atmosphere that allows color to breathe and become protagonist. I work with meticulous observation, aiming for each brushstroke to preserve the sensitivity of the moment and, at the same time, a permanence that transcends the temporality of the represented object.

My pieces occupy a crossroads between academic tradition and a contemporary gaze, where rigorous technique coexists with a personal expressive search. I paint because I find in oil a space of revelation: a way to understand the world and at the same time reinvent it through light, texture, and color.

Cuban visual artist specializing in oil painting on canvas, with a realist approach that stands out for its technical precision, mastery of chiaroscuro, and a deep interest in nature and the human figure.
