Antique double table inkstand in heavy cast brass, made in Portugal and dating to around the 1930s, in Art Nouveau style with a central ink-box and two porcelain cups, in excellent vintage condition.
Description from the seller
An antique double desk inkstand in heavy cast brass, Portuguese-made, dating from approximately the 1930s. The metal framework shows a natural patina with traces of the original polychrome in reddish tones on the Art Nouveau decorative reliefs. The central compartment is a stamp box with the original hinged lid displaying the molded inscription "SELOS". Includes the two original white vitrified porcelain cups for ink storage. Both cups bear the green stamped mark of the prestigious factory Empresa Electro-Cerâmica do Candal (Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal).
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The metal and the lower base are solid, with no breaks, welds, or modern restorations. The two porcelain cups are completely intact, free of flaws, hairlines, or cracks. Mechanisms and hinged lids are fully functional.
Dimensions: Approximately 24.5 cm wide by 13.5 cm deep.
