Magnificent antique frame dating to the 19th century (nineteenth century), crafted in solid wood and adorned with a fine gold leaf gilding applied to red bole (as clearly visible in the photos at points of slight wear). The frame features a rich and refined decoration typical of the era, characterized by embossed/decorated corners with acanthus leaf motifs, floral elements, and plaster swags. The inner moulding is accentuated by a motif of ovals (or beaded/strigilated), while the long sides present lateral insets punctuated by linear grooves. On the back, the structure shows the authenticity of the old wood, with signs of time and hand craftsmanship. A piece of great charm and elegance, ideal for enhancing period paintings, antique canvases, or as a high-end antique furnishing element. Conditions State: Good overall conservation, considering the age.
