Sculpture, Look Within - 33 cm - Limestone - 2026

Hello and thankyou for viewing my work. I am a British sculptor whose work blends contemporary design with the timeless presence of natural materials. Look Within is a contemporary stone sculpture made from a lovely biscuity limestone that is incredibly smooth and soft to the touch.

It feels both grounded and quietly introspective. Its form is defined by a harmony of contrasts: rounded curves and crisp, straight edges which give the piece a sense of deliberate balance — softness held within structure.

At its centre sits an oval void, a smooth, open space that draws the eye inward. This negative form becomes the emotional core of the sculpture, inviting reflection, stillness, and the sense of peering into something essential. Light moves through the opening in shifting shapes, creating gentle shadows that change throughout the day, as if the sculpture is harmonising with its surroundings.

A precise cut through the top adds a striking contemporary gesture. It interrupts the rounded silhouette with a clean, assertive line — a quiet rupture that suggests insight, breakthrough, or the moment a thought becomes clear. The cut also guides light downward, creating a subtle interplay between the outer surface and the inner void.

Look Within feels like a meditation in stone: calm, intentional, and deeply human. It encourages the viewer to pause, to notice the space inside as much as the form outside, and to consider what clarity can emerge when we turn our attention inward.
