Description from the seller

GENERAL
This unit corresponds to the 1985 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, belonging to the model’s second series produced between 1980 and 1987. This vehicle is a piece of Italian engineering that stands out for its Transaxle configuration, placing the engine at the front and the gearbox on the rear axle to achieve an ideal weight balance. It is fitted with the refined 2.0-liter DOHC engine. Its value among collectors is particularly high because it has been a single-owner car throughout its life. Although the odometer reads 78,000 km, the certified real mileage is 178,000 km, with a documented one-turn of the speedometer.

CARROCERÍA Y PINTURA
The exterior of the vehicle is in exceptional condition thanks to a recent polishing process that has restored all the shine to its paint, which practically has no visual defects. During its preparation for sale, a specific structural cleaning was carried out that included repairing a small dent in the rear fender and removing a rust bubble on the front fender. Currently, the bodywork looks renewed, maintaining the original Giugiaro design line without alterations.

MECÁNICA
The car is in full running order and does not require any immediate intervention. It has recently passed the technical inspection (ITV) with almost no observations, confirming its good state of preservation. A thorough tune-up has been performed, including the replacement of the spark plugs. The engine delivers optimal performance and the transmission operates smoothly, allowing you to enjoy the characteristic driving experience of this classic sports car from the first moment.

INTERIOR
The cockpit retains all of its original upholstery, showing honest and logical wear in line with its age and careful use. To guarantee an impeccable appearance, only minimal work was done in two spots: a 10 cm seam was added on the driver’s seat to correct a fray, and a small 4 cm crack in the driver’s door panel was repaired. In this last area, materials very similar to those from the era were used to preserve the interior’s aesthetic coherence.

DOCUMENTACIÓN
The vehicle’s traceability is fully guaranteed through a complete maintenance file compiled over its four decades of life. All servicing has been performed at official dealers or at Alfa Romeo-brand specialist workshops. In addition to this service history, the car is delivered with its original user book and documentation certifying that the chassis has never suffered structural accidents, confirming the transparency of its 178,000 real km.

RECOGIDA
The vehicle is safeguarded in Madrid, Spain. After the unit is awarded, the buyer will have a 20-day free-storage period. This grace period is designed to facilitate transport arrangements and the vehicle’s pickup with complete peace of mind for the new owner.

OTRA INFORMACIÓN
The undercarriage of this GTV is in very good condition and completely free of corrosion, the small spot on the front fender being cleaned as well. Authenticity is the dominant note in this unit, which has been maintained under a strict policy of originality. It represents a singular opportunity for brand enthusiasts seeking a known-history, single-owner specimen ready to roll without mechanical concerns.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
