Mask Kidumu - Teke Tsaye - DR Congo

The Kidumu masks of the Bateke are among the most graphic objects in African art and have long been appreciated by European contemporary art enthusiasts.
This circular, plate-shaped mask features beautiful polychromy and cubist motifs typical of a chiefdom.
The perforations visible along the rim allowed for attaching an imposing raffia headdress.
