Console table - Mahogany, Rosewood - Dutch style

Elegant demi-lune transformable gaming table, usable as a refined wall or entryway console. The piece is a stunning reproduction of mid-20th century design rendered in the classic Dutch cabinetmaker style, featuring rich floral and geometric inlays (marquetry) executed with light contrasting woods on the front fascia and the surface of the top. The furniture has a top that folds open like a book to double the surface and transform into a round table. Inside there is a practical wooden storage compartment, ideal for storing playing cards, chips, or other items. The opening mechanism relies on sliding the central rear leg and a sturdy continuous brass link hinge. The three legs have a sinuous and graceful “en cabriole” line with vertical geometric inlays.

Please note that, due to the natural movement of the wood over the years, the top does not close perfectly flush and remains imperceptibly raised on one side. This very slight structural defect is typical of vintage “book” furniture, does not compromise its stability, and is completely invisible when the console is placed against a wall.
