Description from the seller
GENERAL:
Wow, what a beauty this stunning Volkswagen T1 Samba is, fully restored in the style of a gorgeous 23-window VW T1 Samba Bus.
BODYWORK/PAINT:
This VW T1 has been fully restored in Brazil, with the metalwork, body panels and mechanicals all given a complete overhaul. It was then painted in a beautiful two-tone color scheme: "Red over Black." The floor and engine bay were also painted to achieve a fine finish. The restoration was entirely a body-off job and lasted more than a year.
Great attention has been paid to details, such as a matching dashboard, a fully custom new interior, wheels with chrome trim, the chrome details with red piping, and the dual roof racks (imperial). The axles and engine parts were also painted. A new, original chromed Volkswagen logo at the front, luxury chrome imperials and the original VW hubcaps with chrome trim make this T1 a real head-turner.
TECHNICAL:
This T1 features the well-known air-cooled 1500 cc four-cylinder engine. The van starts well. As the photos show, the engine has been thoroughly inspected, fitted with new parts where needed, and reinstalled. The gears, brakes and drums have also been disassembled and checked. Look at the photos and see for yourself the amount of work that went into it!
INTERIOR:
Inside, a completely new interior has been installed, of course in matching colors. From new curtains, a new headliner, new interior side panels, new seating to the new, open-folding roof. The seats are beautifully upholstered in coordinating colors. The windshields are the well-known pop-open Samba windows, so they can also be opened.
DOCUMENTS:
This van was imported from Brazil and carries Brazilian registration. All import duties have been paid and the Brazilian registration papers + customs import documents are of course included with the purchase. The van is sold "as is" and is located in Antwerp. It is ready to be collected within 14 days after the auction.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This is a private sale; therefore, warranty does not apply. Despite the thorough restoration, we advise budgeting approximately 10% supplementary costs/works (indicative) to have this beauty fully road-ready for operation on West European streets."

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
