Hand fan - Bone - Elizabethan style 1910

Elegant Spanish fan from the late 19th century, made with carved and pierced bone ribs (or similar material) and body fashioned in gray silk with lithographed decoration and hand-painted details.

The front features a delicate scene inspired by Romanticism, with a female figure and a cherub, framed by a fine lace applied border. The reverse preserves a more sober decoration with vegetal and ornamental motifs, characteristic of Spanish production in the late 19th century.

The ribs display fine decorative work through engraving, piercing and floral motifs, topped with an elegant metal clasp.

This is a representative piece of the fans used during the Isabeline (Isabelline) period and the Restoration, intended for everyday use as well as as an accessory to dress.

The fan is in good overall condition for its age. It shows light signs of use, small stains and wear typical of the passage of time, not affecting its decorative and collectible appeal.
