Corum Bubble Chronograph, reference 396.150.20, produced 2000–2010, with a 45 mm stainless steel case, black dial, quartz movement, and a short leather strap for unisex wear, in good condition with visible wear.
Description from the seller
CORUM BUBBLE CHRONOGRAPH WATCH (REF. 396.150.20): We present at auction one of the most iconic and bold watches of contemporary Swiss watchmaking. Launched in 2000 under the direction of Severin Wunderman, the Corum Bubble broke the mold with its design inspired by experimental diving watches from the 1960s.
The indisputable focal point of this piece is its monumental 8 mm thick domed sapphire crystal. This crystal not only offers exceptional resistance but also acts as a magnifying lens, creating fascinating visual distortions of the dial depending on the viewing angle.
The robust 45 mm polished stainless steel case houses a high-precision Swiss quartz chronograph movement. The black dial features luminous hands and indices, three silver sub-dials for timekeeping, the date window at 6 o’clock, and the unmistakable stylized Arabic numerals of the collection. The screw-down case back guarantees a water resistance of 200 meters (660 ft).
Condition Report (Expert Appraisal)
We kindly ask bidders to carefully read the condition description and review the photo gallery:
Case and Crystal: In magnificent aesthetic condition. The highly polished steel shows only very light micro-scratches typical of occasional, careful use. The massive sapphire crystal is immaculate, with no bumps or scratches.
Movement: The quartz caliber functions correctly, as do the chronograph pushers and the zero reset.
Strap and Clasp (Important): The original stainless steel deployant clasp works perfectly. The outer leather strap presents a good appearance, but the inner coating is severely cracked, peeled, and deteriorated with time (a very common wear pattern in materials of this series). It is fully functional, but the future buyer may wish to replace the strap in the medium term. (Shipped without original box or documentation).
Shipping
The item will be carefully protected and securely packaged, with insured shipping and an international tracking number.
A fantastic opportunity to acquire a cult classic of Swiss watchmaking, famous for its radical aesthetic and unmatched wrist presence!
