Copeland Spode “Chinese Rose” – 5-piece English fine china set from the Mid-Century era (dated November 1961)
Description:
An exquisite 5-piece lot from the renowned English manufactory Copeland Spode in the iconic and timeless “Chinese Rose” decor. This pattern is especially sought after for its colorful, Asian-inspired floral motifs (Chinoiserie style) on a warm, creamy ground, enhanced by a hand-painted green wavy rim.
All pieces bear the original brown factory stamp “Copeland Spode England” as well as the historical registry number Rᵈ No 629599. The underside also bears the official pattern number 2/3753, a hand-painted painter’s mark (49) as proof of true handcraft, and the deeply impressed factory blind stamp “N61”. According to Copeland Spode’s official key, this dates the manufacture precisely to November 1961. A wonderfully documented original ensemble from the mid-20th century in excellent condition.

Sugar bowl with lid: bulbous shape with elegant handles and a relief knop on the lid.
Oval serving bowl: Deeper bowl with two outward-facing side handles – ideal for side dishes or pastries.
Rectangular serving platter / cake dish: Elongated shape with a raised, curved edge.
Tea/coffee cup with saucer: Cup in a classic, flared form on a distinctive square saucer with curved corners.
Small oval serving dish / petit four boat: Delicate piece for confectionery or small side dishes.
