A detailed, solid silver tea caddy (or large pomander) in historical Rococo style, manufactured in the famous German silver city of Hanau around 1900.
The square body is decorated all around with deep, repoussé reliefs of floral motifs and classical scenes in medallions. The detachable oval lid features a depiction of a vase with roses and a refined border of acanthus leaves.
On the bottom there is a Hanau-silver-typical pseudo-hallmark in the shape of a crab.
Dimensions: 11.5 cm high, 7.6 x 7.2 cm

The bottom is stamped with a classic Hanau pseudo-hallmark resembling a crab. The piece is in good antique condition.

Een gedetailleerde, massief zilveren theebus (of grote lodereindoos) in historische Rococo-stijl, vervaardigd in de beroemde Duitse zilverstad Hanau rond het jaar 1900.
De vierkante bus is rondom versierd met diepe, gedreven reliëfs (repoussé) van florale motieven en klassieke taferelen in medaillons. Het losse, ovale deksel is voorzien van een voorstelling van een vaas met rozen en een verfijnde rand van acanthusbladeren.
Op de bodem bevindt zich een voor Hanau-zilver typerend pseudo-keurmerk in de vorm van een krab.
