A beautiful antique porcelain pot/vase attributed to the renowned Samson et Cie, Paris, dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
The elegant lobed body is richly hand-painted in the celebrated Japanese Imari style, featuring exotic birds among flowering branches, chrysanthemums and scrolling foliage in cobalt blue, iron-red, turquoise, soft yellow and fine gilt highlights. The scalloped rim and sculptural pedestal create a refined and highly decorative silhouette.
