Description from the seller

These objects are museum replicas of a traditional Dutch wedding bottle (or ribbed carafe) from the 18th century (circa 1750–1780). Features of the original:
Origin: These characteristic glass carafes were blown in Dutch glassworks during the 18th century, notably in the Delft/Rotterdam region.
Design: The model stands out for its rounded, often eight-lobed body that is richly decorated with vertical, pinched glass ribs or “knobs.” The two large, symmetrical handles extend gracefully from the neck to the shoulder of the carafe.
Function: Originally these bottles were traditionally given as a wedding gift (hence the name “bridal bottle”). But they can also be used as a vase, for example.
In these exemplars, we are dealing with modern, clear museum replicas in which the iconic form and the glass elements (such as the twisted glass thread around the neck and the pinched ribs) have been copied exactly. The bottles are pristine and unused.
The height of the large carafe is 23 cm and that of the small carafe 16 cm.
The carafes are carefully packed and insured for shipping. Collection in person is also possible.
