Offered is an extremely rare and sought-after design centerpiece from De Porceleyne Fles: a monumental wall plate from the iconic, experimental series 'Red Craquelé' (produced between 1947-1967).
This specific piece has a diameter of 33.5 cm, the sought-after middle-large size from this series, and displays the rare, modern-stylized decoration of two lizards (salamanders) surrounded by floral rotation panels.
The groundbreaking and abstract design is by master designer Cornelius Hartog (1903-1965).
The back is fully coded and hand-painted in the characteristic flowing red glaze:
