The Asahi Pentax S3 from 1960 is a fully mechanical 35mm single-lens reflex camera with an M42 screw mount for the lenses. The lens (no. 641904) is an Auto-Takumar 55/1.8 that suits its era. The aperture is clean and the adjustment moves with clear clicks without sticking. The automatic diaphragm works properly. Focusing moves smoothly with good resistance and no creep. The A/M switch also works well. The glass is clear with a single speck of dust appropriate to its age.
All in all, a nice specimen for the collector and to really shoot with a renowned vintage camera on film.
