Description from the seller
Mildia - "Compressor" (EPSA Case Patent 313813) Automatic Date - Men - 1960-1969
Description: An elegant and historically interesting Swiss-made dress watch from the 1960s, manufactured by Mildia SA (La Chaux-de-Fonds). This timepiece stands out due to its genuine "Compressor" case, patented under Brevet + 313813 by the legendary Swiss case maker Ervin Piquerez S.A. (EPSA). The Compressor system was highly celebrated in the golden era of Swiss watchmaking for utilizing water pressure to seal the snap-fit case back tighter against the rubber gasket. The watch features a beautiful, clean sunburst golden dial with applied hour markers, a date window at 3 o'clock, and classic golden hands. Powered by a reliable Swiss automatic movement with 17 jewels (17 Rubis) and protected by the renowned Incabloc shock-absorption system. Aesthetically, the watch is in a very well-preserved vintage condition. The gold-plated finish is remarkably well-maintained across the entire mid-case and lugs, showing no brassing or significant plating loss even on the high-friction edges. The original high-domed acrylic crystal shows fine age-related stress lines and hairline marks on the outer edges under certain lighting angles. The watch comes fitted with a well-preserved aftermarket black leather strap featuring a glossy crocodile texture and a matching golden pin buckle, both showing minimal signs of prior use. On the stainless steel case back, the official stamps "COMPRESSOR", "BREVET + 313813", the model reference "6807", and the deep-etched EPSA diver helmet logo are fully visible, perfectly legible, and completely original. A beautiful collector's lot combining classic mid-century dress style with a legendary Swiss case design.
