Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life has deep roots in artisanal craft. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting and chrome plating.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urge he has always guarded. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.

Message and interpretation: "Devil Rock" invites us to consider the playful and mischievous side of life. The artist wanted to emphasize the importance of lightening the spirit and finding fun even in the most ordinary or everyday situations. The heart reinterpreted in a diabolical key could be interpreted as an exploration of human duality, showing how opposite aspects can coexist within each of us.
Context and inspiration: Sagrasse drew inspiration from a playful spirit to create "Devil Rock," aiming to bring a smile to viewers’ faces and invite them not to take everything too seriously.
