Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life has deep roots in artisanal craft. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting and chrome plating.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urge he has always guarded. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
Title - Devil rock
Technique: resin and marble powder
Dimensions: 28x20x12 cm
Condition: new.
Certificate of authenticity - handwritten signature.
Edition: limited edition 499 ex - gold
Message and interpretation: "Devil Rock" invites us to consider the playful and mischievous side of life. The artist wanted to emphasize the importance of lightening the spirit and finding fun even in the most ordinary or everyday situations. The heart reinterpreted in a diabolical key could be interpreted as an exploration of human duality, showing how opposite aspects can coexist within each of us.
Context and inspiration: Sagrasse drew inspiration from a playful spirit to create "Devil Rock," aiming to bring a smile to viewers’ faces and invite them not to take everything too seriously. The work reflects a desire to explore the contrast between love and evil, finding a balance between both through a provocative and visually interesting artistic expression.
The artwork will be carefully packaged and shipped with a courier with tracking.
In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Notable among these are the presence at the Contemporary Art Review "Arte Venezia" in 2025, the collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and the inclusion of his works in the renowned private collection Fuser. From craftsman to a hallmark of the Neo-Pop panorama, Sagrasse demonstrates how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.
Sagrasse is not merely an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, placing it at the service of imagination. His works are colored mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic and irresistibly modern.
Sagrasse’s work sits perfectly in the wake of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of everyday life or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski.
The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handmade work of art, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of completely manual workmanship.
It is advised not to expose to heat sources; clean only with a soft cloth, without detergents.
