Jimmy Nelson (1967 - ) is a British photographer and photojournalist. He is best known for his book Before They Pass Away, for which he traveled the world for two and a half years and photographed 35 indigenous tribes.
In 1992 Nelson was commissioned by Royal Dutch Shell to produce the book Literary Portraits of China. For this he traveled for three years with his wife Ashkaine Hora Adema through China.
Hora Adema wrote the book and Nelson took the photographs. The photographs were exhibited worldwide.
In 1997 Nelson began working in the advertising industry. He lives in Amsterdam and is the father of three children.
