Biography: Louis Meijs
The painter Meijs lived and worked in Scheveningen, The Hague, Voorburg, and, since 1932, in The Hague. He lived for a long time in southern France. Meijs was a pupil of the Academy of Beeldende Kunst in The Hague. He painted and drew landscapes, flowers, portraits, figures and compositions in a more or less impressionistic style. He was a well-known and gifted artist. Louis was a member of the Haagse Kunstkring and taught at M.W. Volkers.
