Monumental Art Deco 'Oroplastic' Vase – Emerald Green Crystal – Moser Karlsbad,

An exceptionally large and monumental Art Deco crystal vase, crafted in the style of or attributed to the world-renowned Czech glass manufacturer Moser (Karlsbad/Karlovy Vary) in the early decades of the 20th century (circa 1920-1930).

The vase is executed in an iconic, deep emerald color, characteristic of the finest Bohemian crystal work from this period. The centerpiece of this heavy, faceted crystal goblet vase is the impressively wide 'Oroplastic' frieze of no less than 6 cm in width. This band displays an extremely detailed, classical Amazonomachy: a dynamic battle scene with mythical Amazon warriors, equipped with spears, swords and round shields.

The band is rendered in 24-karat gold with contrasting matte and polished elements, creating a beautiful three-dimensional relief effect. Condition: The vase is in very good vintage condition. The heavy crystal itself is completely clear, flawless and free of chips, cracks or glass corrosion.

The broad, gilded Oroplastic band remains beautifully sharp around the battle scene. Note about the gold layer: In one specific spot there is a small, superficial damage in the thin gold edge (see the last detail photo). Here the gold layer is locally interrupted/worn away, with a small dark spot visible. This, however, hardly detracts from the monumental and decorative appearance of this rare collector’s item.
