Omega Art Collection 1987, a 40 mm quartz men’s watch with a steel and ceramic case, black dial, sapphire glass, leather band over 200 mm, Limited to 999 pieces with signature.
Description from the seller
Very Rare Omega "Art Collection 1987" XL size-40mm.
Limited edition of 999 pieces with signature.
This is not just a watch, but a small piece of design history of the 1980s. In the mid-1980s, Omega launched the Art Collection, an avant-garde series that united Swiss watchmaking and contemporary art. Ultra-modern in three sizes (M, L and XL), monochrome dials are combined with colorful medallions on the case back. Designed by leading abstract artists. Among them are Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, Camille Grazier, Al Held, Kenneth Noland, Arnaldo Pomodoro and Emilio Tadini.
The watch has a stainless steel case ("Fond Acier Inoxydable"), round and ultra-thin, with a screw-down retaining ring that holds the "Art" medallion on the case back. The dial is a deep black minimalist dial with white visible hands and a discreet date at 6 o'clock - the typical, very clean "Art" design, where the front is almost empty, and all the color is hidden on the back. The mechanism is a high-quality quartz Omega caliber 1435, 6 jewels, made in Switzerland. A very thin, reliable mechanism that allows the case to remain extremely flat, while keeping accurate time. It has an original black Omega strap and original Omega buckle. Original black crown. Water resistance up to 3 atm.
