This Italian sculptor was a major figure of Italian Impressionism.
This sculpture, with a dark patina imitating the reflections of bronze, is a perfect reproduction, dated to the late 19th century.
Medardo Rosso drew inspiration from a young assistant, Bustelli, watching a puppet show, to give this work such a smiling face, with blurred contours, and with its vibrant texture.
There are a few patina losses due to its great age.
