Description from the seller
An exceptionally and remarkably elegant Val Saint Lambert crystal ensemble, consisting of a rare Sigismond decanter with its original hand-cut stopper and a set of six matching crystal glasses. This refined group is a brilliant example of Belgian crystal craftsmanship from the early 20th century and embodies the luxury and elegance of the Belle Époque.
The decanter belongs to the prestigious Sigismond model and is executed with the famous Boris cut, one of the most refined geometric decorations of Val Saint Lambert. Both the model and the cut are documented in the original Val Saint Lambert catalogs, which confirms the authenticity and historical value of this exceptional piece.
Fully handcrafted and cut with the utmost precision, the decanter features a harmonious baluster-shaped body, a tall, finely faceted neck, and the original hand-cut crystal stopper. The combination of rich diamond cuts and long oval facets creates an impressive play of light and sparkle, typical of Val Saint Lambert’s finest productions.
The six matching crystal glasses form a perfect complement to the decanter. Each glass features an elegant Venetian ribbed goblet, resting on a beautifully cut and sculptural stem. Their refined design and exceptional clarity provide a luxurious appearance and make the set ideal for serving port, dessert wine, liqueur, or other refined beverages.
The complete ensemble is in excellent antique condition. The decanter and glasses are free of chips, cracks, restorations, internal clouding, or mineral deposits. The crystal is exceptionally clear and radiant, indicating that this set has been used little, or perhaps not at all, for more than a century.
An extremely rare and elegant Val Saint Lambert service that possesses both museum-quality and decorative beauty. A unique opportunity for collectors of Belgian crystal and enthusiasts of exceptional European craftsmanship.
