Description from the seller

Indian Tabriz Design Rug Fine

Indian rugs in Tabriz design are high-quality, hand-knotted carpets distinguished by their fine knots, intricate patterns, and the inspiration drawn from the famous Persian Tabriz models.

Origin & Inspiration:
The original Tabriz design comes from the Iranian city of Tabriz, one of Persia's oldest and most renowned carpet centers. In India, these patterns have been adopted and developed by skilled knotters for centuries. Indian Tabriz rugs fuse traditional Persian ornamentation with the craftsmanship of Indian manufacturing.

Material & Production

Material: Typically high-quality, hand-spun wool – often knotted on a cotton warp.
Knotting: Hand-knotted with a high knot density (usually 160,000 to over 350,000 knots per m²).
Dyeing: Plant-based and synthetic dyes, often vibrant yet warm in tone.

Design & Style

Traditional Saroukh (Sarough) motifs: Medallion designs, floral ornaments, arabesques.
Usually symmetrical, with richly decorated borders.
Color palette: Dark red, blue, beige, ivory, sometimes gold or green tones.

Advantages of an Indo-Tabriz Rug

Timeless design that suits both classical and modern interiors.
Durable and often more robust than machine-made carpets.

Origin country: Indo rug
Material: Wool on cotton
Condition: Very good
Age: approx. 0-5 years, like new
