Impressive large glazed ceramic centerpiece created by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, dating from the Italian Mid-Century period, circa 1970s.
The low, generously proportioned form is decorated with distinctive concentric coloured bands in vivid green, ochre yellow, orange and ivory. The exterior is enriched with hand-impressed circular motifs and fine combed textures, giving the piece a highly decorative and tactile appearance.
The interior is finished in a warm ivory-white glaze displaying fine age-related crazing. The underside is glazed in green and retains visible concentric traces of the wheel-thrown production process.
A striking decorative object, ideal as a table centerpiece, display bowl or statement piece in a Mid-Century Modern interior.
Condition: good vintage condition, with minor signs of age, glaze crazing and small irregularities consistent with handcrafted ceramic production. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
