Description from the seller
Damien Hirst – Fruitful (Small), 2020 (H8-2)
The Fruitful edition was created in September 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic. Damien Hirst partnered with Fondazione Prada to support Save the Children’s campaign “Riscriviamo il Futuro” (Rewrite the Future). The aim was to raise funds for Italian children from disadvantaged backgrounds, hard hit by school closures and the health crisis. The campaign was a huge success, raising over €3.3 million.
The Cherry Blossom Bloom
Fruitful is a macroscopic dive into Hirst’s famous Cherry Blossoms series.
The work captures details of monumental canvases where Hirst reinterprets Impressionism and Pointillism (quoting Bonnard, Monet and Van Gogh).
It represents abundance and renewal through vibrant brushstrokes (pink, white, green) that intertwine on a dark background, creating an impression of organic movement.
The work measures 39 x 39 cm, offering an intimate and abstract view of the almost-living texture of the original.
This piece is not a simple paper print, but a sophisticated art object produced by HENI Editions
Technique: Giclée print laminated on an aluminum composite panel.
Artist’s digital signature on the back.
Edition: Limited to 3,308 copies (the number was determined by demand during a 12-day sale window in 2020).
Numbering: Each copy bears a unique number on the reverse label.
MINT CONDITION with original box
Why acquire it today?
Fruitful marks a turning point in Hirst’s career, where he moves away from darker themes (such as animals in formaldehyde) toward a joyful celebration of life and color. For a collector, it’s a “Blue-chip” piece (a safe bet) that combines the iconic aesthetic of the Cherry Blossoms with a strong philanthropic history.
The item will be carefully packed and sent in the original carton.Tracked shipping, insured, and requiring a signature upon delivery.
