AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Claudio Secchi, born in Milan in 1920. An Art Master, he graduated from the A. Venturi Institute of Art in Modena, the city where he lives and works. He began painting in oils on canvas at age 13, and even now, more than thirty years later, this is the technique he uses predominantly. The first works are abstract, vaguely metaphysical, based on a search for color as the predominant expressive medium. He then embarked on a long path of exploration, in which color seeks a form. It is a path that, due to the strong and pure use of color, leads toward the Impressionists. The color is laid upon increasingly recognizable forms, until reaching architectures, the human figure and the portrait. Thereafter, he begins the search for meaning. In 2005 he abandons the forms and, with an impressionist-flavored abstraction, he creates the series of skies titled "Beyond the Clouds", where the struggle between light and darkness symbolizes that between good and evil. In 2006, from a dream, the series "Transcending" is born. The color is still strong and pure, but for the form any reference to reality or to the classical abstract is abandoned, and he turns to the use of geometries to represent a dimension that is transcendent. He is still working on this. The search for the use of expressive means has led him to experiences also in the musical and theatrical fields. Since 2004 he has been part of NGA, a group of painters, sculptors and photographers with which he has exhibited in several group exhibitions.
