AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A particularly atmospheric and rare antique foldable corner étagère. The piece is richly decorated with openwork Neo-Gothic style carving, including pointed arches and reticulated motifs. The unique aspect of this object is the thoughtful and original folding mechanism: the back panels are hinged together, the triangular top folds down and is locked at the back with a brass detent on a small chain. A beautiful and functional piece of craftsmanship for displaying, for example, a religious object, a vase, or a sculpture in a classic or Historicist interior.

Condition:
In authentic, rustic vintage condition with clear age and use marks.
Woodwork:
The wooden top shows a visible seam/crack from drying.
The openwork Gothic carving shows drying cracks, small chips, and rougher edges in several places.
The dark aging stain/patina is authentic and unrestored.

Mechanism:
The brass hinges and locking pin are original, functional, and have a nice aged patina.
The corner plank still folds in and out smoothly and locks securely.

Dimensions:
Height: 39 cm
Width: 29 cm
Depth: 20 cm
Top surface dimensions: Width 26 cm x Depth 18 cm
Weight: 1.4 kg.

The lot will be carefully packed and sent by registered, insured mail with a track-and-trace number.
Pickup by arrangement is also possible.
