Special set of two Space Age side tables made from thick, smoked brown curved plexiglass/acrylate. The tables feature the iconic minimalist waterfall design from the 70s, with one continuous sheet heated and seamlessly curved. Thanks to the different dimensions, the tables can be used separately or as elegant nesting tables that slide into one another.
The warm smoked-brown color gives the tables a luxurious look and creates a subtle play of light and transparency. The clean design makes this set a beautiful addition to both vintage interiors and modern or contemporary interiors.
Due to their versatility, the tables are perfect as a side table, coffee table, bedside table, or as a display for design objects, art books, or lighting.
Design
The simple, flowing lines and the organically rounded corners are characteristic of the Space Age period, in which plastic materials such as plexiglass and acrylic played an important role in international design. The design breathes the futuristic language of the 70s and evokes designs by, among others, Michel Dumas, Gae Aulenti, and Kartell, without this set being attributed to a specific designer.
Condition
The tables are in good vintage condition.
There are light signs of use, appropriate to age and use, including a few fine surface scratches and light marks. No cracks, breaks, or restorations. The edges are neat and the construction is fully stable. The photos are an integral part of the description.
