Rare Antique Cirio Napoli Advertising Majolica Jar - Chiurazzi Capodimonte - End of 1800s

A highly collectible and rare piece of late 19th-century Italian commercial history. This antique ceramic lidded jar was custom-made for the iconic Italian food company Cirio by the legendary Chiurazzi workshop in Capodimonte, Naples, dating back to the end of the 1800s.

During this golden era of Neapolitan trade, Cirio commissioned elite local potteries to create luxury, hand-painted majolica packaging for their finest food preserves and exports.

The design is a beautiful Italian Renaissance Revival interpretation of traditional Campanian folk pottery. The front of the jar prominently features the hand-painted, classic "CIRIO" brand name, while the reverse side is inscribed with "NAPOLI", proudly marking its historic city of origin. Both inscriptions are elegantly framed by traditional blue bands and ochre lines.

The lower half and lid are meticulously decorated with stylized, hand-painted floral motifs and scrolling accents in cobalt blue, copper green, and earthy brown tones against an authentic cream earthenware glaze. The bottom is hand-signed "Chiurazzi Capodimonte", solidifying its premium provenance, age, and regional authenticity.

Condition: In good antique condition, beautifully preserved for its age. Please see all photos carefully for historic imperfections, glaze characteristics, or signs of wear consistent with its age and use as an early commercial advertising vessel.
