Description from the seller
This is a mid-20th-century European 800 sterling silver portable cigarette case, a classic gentleman's antique silver item. The entire case is fully engraved with the iconic "Engine Turned" pattern, featuring a neat vertical grid texture with exquisite craftsmanship and outstanding light and shadow effects, a highly representative decorative technique of the time.
The case has a rounded square design with smooth hinges. It has an internal gold-plated lining and a non-slip cigarette holder, maintaining its structural integrity and accommodating standard-sized cigarettes. The item bears a clear 800 sterling silver purity stamp and a country of origin label, ensuring a clear and reliable provenance.
Upon inspection and photographic examination, the silver case is in good overall condition. The hinges are secure, and the clasp opens and closes normally. The surface shows natural wear and slight oxidation, but there is no deformation, penetration, dents, or damage. The gold plating of the inner lining shows normal aging and fading. All aspects of its condition are accurately presented.
