Icon of the Pantocrator Christ (Late 19th Century)
Sacred painting on a wooden panel depicting the Christ Pantocrator (Lord of the World) in the Russian Orthodox style. Christ is portrayed blessing with his right hand and with the Gospel Book open in his left, on which is inscribed the verse "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened...". The work is distinguished by its refined gilded background with punch-decorated geometric motifs and by the precious golden highlights on the folds of the robe.
