Manuela Decker (born 1973) is a contemporary German painter who lives and works in Osnabrück. Self-taught, she has developed an unconventional, deeply emotional visual language that moves freely beyond academic constraints. Under the studio name Gallery M, she presents her works to an international audience.

Artistic Profile & Style
Manuela Decker’s works are associated with abstract expressionism and modern informal art. The core of her work is the act of letting go. Her large-format acrylic paintings often emerge impulsively and intuitively—guided by moments, moods, and the dynamics of color itself.
Technique:
She primarily works with acrylic paints, pastels, and texture-building mixed media on canvas. The paint is applied in layers, sometimes boldly daubed, sometimes gently brushed or glazes. This gives her paintings a tactile depth. Contrasts: a recurring motif is the play of extreme opposites. In series such as “Better in black,” she contrasts deep, dark fields with sudden, luminous color explosions or minimalist lines. The imperfect and rough is intentionally staged as an aesthetic element.
Philosophy and Intent:
For Manuela Decker, art is a valve for the unsayable. She aims not to impose a fixed interpretation on the viewer, but to offer room for personal associations and feelings. Her art seeks dialogue with the subconscious.
