Antonibon - Giovanni Barettoni - Box (2) - Ceramic

Fascinating pair of container-cases (or small boxes) zoomorphic in the shape of a wild duck, made in tin-glazed ceramic, fully molded and hand-decorated.
The original manufactory is the famous and ancient Barettoni, formerly Antonibon, located in Nove di Bassano, heir and continuator of one of the most prestigious ceramic traditions of the Venetian Republic.
These iconic collectible objects feature a mid-horizontal opening that divides the lid from the main body, echoing the historic eighteenth-century tradition of serving dishes and refined pâté containers.
The painted layer is executed freely by hand in polychromy with rich nuances of brown, green, white and blue, finished with a glossy protective glaze that gives great vivacity and brightness to the colors.
A decorative set of strong character, ideal both as a refined interior decor complement for kitchens and dining rooms, and as a collectible piece for lovers of Italian artistic maiolica.
