Description from the seller
Raymakers, Wil and Wilms, Thijs - Original painted background of daily strip 1101 + cel - Boes (1980s)
Format white background sheet: 28 x 11.5 cm - mint condition
This animation cel plus coloring of a newspaper strip was used for the Dutch magazine Sjors en Sjimmie Stripblad in the 1980s.
Boes is the brainchild of Thijs Wilms and illustrator Wil Raymakers. This wordless animal comic strip with a bull in the lead role appeared from 1980 in various newspapers. These cartoons gained great fame as a daily strip in many Dutch newspapers. Boes could also be found in magazines such as Eppo/Wordt Vervolgd and Suske en Wiske Weekblad, and there were book editions published by Drukwerk and Standaard Uitgeverij.
Due to the popularity of the hilarious gags, the strip quickly became known outside the Netherlands as well, so much so that animated short films were made that were produced in 1988 and 1989 by Telescreen/TV Tokyo.
This lot contains a beautiful, original painted background with the original Boes film cel.
