An elegant small Art Deco sterling silver circular ointment or vanity box, beautifully crafted in 925 sterling silver and decorated with exquisite guilloché enamel in soft grey-green and white concentric bands. The finely engine-turned decoration beneath the translucent enamel creates a captivating play of light and depth, while a matching guilloché enamel band encircles the side of the box, enhancing its refined geometric design.

The box is struck with a 925 sterling silver mark together with the ( i think ) attr. to French "charançon" (weevil) import hallmark, indicating that it was manufactured outside France and officially imported and assayed in France. The elegant guilloché enamel decoration and restrained geometric styling are characteristic of the Art Deco period, dating to approximately 1925–1940.

Condition
Very good antique condition with normal signs of age and careful use. Minor surface scratches and a few tiny enamel specks are present, consistent with age. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
