Antique Silver Auction

Silver teapot, ornamented around with foliate motifs and putti. Probably made by the silversmith Jan Schijfsma from Sneek, active from 1844 to 1898.

The teapot is fitted with pseudo-hallmarks (to give the teapot an older appearance) that were used by this silversmith. They concern:

Lemon 216 imitation mark of the Rotterdam master Louis de Haan, 1745;
Lemon 242 imitation of the Rotterdam year letter of 1771
Lemon 600 imitation of the Rotterdam city mark of 1771
Lemon 623 imitation of the Rotterdam duty mark of 1771

Furthermore, the teapot is stamped with Z11 as the second fineness silver mark.

The pouring pot is in prime condition.

Weight: 347 grams. Dimensions: 10 x 19 cm.

Zilveren theepot, rondom versierd met bladmotiven en putti. Waarschijnlijk gemaakt door de zilversmid Jan Schijfsma uit Sneek, werkzaam van 1844 tot 1898.

De theepot is voorzien van pseudokeuren (om de theepot een ouder uiterlijk te geven) die gebruikt werden door deze zilversmid. Het gaat om:

Citroen 216 nagebootst teken van de Rotterdamse meester Louis de Haan, 1745;

Citroen 242 nabootsing Rotterdamse jaarletter van 1771

Citroen 600 nabootsing Rotterdamse stadsmerk van 1771

Citroen 623 nabootsing Rotterdamse gehalteteken van 1771

Verder is de theepot gekeurd met Z11 als tweede gehalte zilverkeur.

De trekpot is in prima conditie.
