Description from the seller

Bronze patinated pedestal from the 19th century. Double relief with mythological and neoclassical motifs. High level of artistic casting.

- Obverse: Neoclassical-inspired relief with the goddess Minerva (Athena) surrounded by nature, ruined columns, an obelisk and allegories of the arts.
- Reverse: Richly worked in relief with a mythological scene or bacchanal that includes faces, animals and figures of naked men and women.
- Pedestal/trunk: Very laboriously decorated in relief. Notable are three ram heads arranged symmetrically at 120-degree intervals.
- Measurements: overall height 17.5 cm, top plate diameter 18 cm, circular base diameter 8.5 cm. Weight: 833 g.

Excellent condition. Sturdy structure and a very uniform bronze patina that highlights the reliefs. It could be a piece acquired during the Grand Tour cultural phenomenon in the 19th century.

Ships to Europe. On the islands the shipping price may vary. NO SHIPMENTS TO THE USA.
