A treat for collectors. Beautiful, very large shell, rarely for sale. Strombus Goliath-Titanostrombus goliath, formerly known as Lobatus goliath, the common name for the Goliath shell, is a species of a very large edible sea snail, a sea snail in the family Strombidae. The Goliath shell has a very large, heavy, and sturdy shell, with a very striking, widely flared and thickened outer lip. The stroboidal notch is fairly inconspicuous in adults, but can be identified as a secondary anterior notch on the right side of the siphonal canal in a dextral shell, viewed ventrally, with the anterior end oriented downward. In contrast to the similarly large king conch, Aliger gigas, the aperture of the Goliath shell is brown in color and not pink. T. goliath also has a shorter spire and darker spines compared with the concha (queen conch), and the outer lip often extends far beyond the length of the spire in adult shells. Dimensions: 14/18/21 cm. Warmly recommended for collectors and interior decorators. is carefully packed and insured for shipping.
