Description from the seller
UNIVERSAL GENÈVE Polerouter Automatic – Microrotor Cal. 218-2 (ca. 1958–1962)
One of Universal Genève's most representative references, equipped with the prestigious 28-jewel microrotor caliber 218-2, developed from Gérald Genta's revolutionary design for the Polerouter line. This movement is considered a milestone of Swiss watchmaking for its thinness, efficiency and build quality.
The gold-plated case preserves an elegant presence, though it shows wear consistent with use and the passage of time, especially on the lugs and the bezel, where there is loss of plating and superficial oxidation. The stainless steel back shows normal signs of use.
The original silver dial displays a very marked patina with abundant oxidation spots and uniform aging, features that many collectors value for their authenticity. It retains its applied markers, dauphine hands and the date window at 3 o'clock.
Inside it houses the Universal Genève calibre 218-2, automatic microrotor, 28 jewels, visible in the photographs. The movement appears complete, clean and without obvious signs of major interventions, maintaining Universal Genève's characteristic finish.
