Description from the seller
FRANCE. Paris. 1 Franc. 1919.
- Value: 1 Franc.
- Year: 1919.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE and signature O. ROTY. Reverse: LIBERTE · EGALITE · FRATERNITE · 1 FRANC · 1919.
- Grade: MS64 (PCGS).
Silver 1 Franc coin of the “Semeuse” type, with an allegorical representation of the Republic sowing to the wind, by Oscar Roty, in a modernist style with great dynamism in the treatment of the folds and the movement of the hair. The reverse features the value 1 FRANC on an olive branch, surrounded by the national motto, in a balanced and elegant composition. The piece shows well-defined reliefs, with original lustre still perceptible beneath a multicolored patina with golden and bluish nuances, especially visible on the reverse. The fields show slight marks characteristic of its grade, maintaining an overall harmonious and attractive appearance consistent with its MS64 preservation.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
