Description from the seller

CYPRUS. 1 Piastre. 1934. George V (1910-1936)

- Value: 1 Piastre.
- Reign: George V (1910-1936).
- Year: 1934.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR. Reverse: CYPRVS · ONE PIASTRE · 1 · 1934.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).

Coin of 1 Piastre with a left portrait of King George V, depicted with imperial crown and ceremonial uniform, in a realistic style characteristic of British coinage of the period. The reverse presents the face value in the center, surrounded by the denomination, the name Cyprus and the date, all framed by an attractive beaded-edge planchet. The specimen is in excellent condition, with well-defined relief, clean fields and original lustre partially visible under a soft light brown patina, consistent with its MS63 grade. Struck during the British administration of Cyprus, this piece is part of the colonial monetary system imposed on the island under the British Crown, reflecting the political and economic influence of the Empire in the eastern Mediterranean.

Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
