Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful, and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and then for a long time worked from Amsterdam. Her artist's name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for vivid colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by vibrant color use, dynamic forms, and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance and dream images play a major role. She often used mixed techniques, including acrylic, oil paint, and pencil, giving her works a rich, textured appearance that directly taps into emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic and full of movement, almost as if the canvases ‘breathe’.

We take great care in packaging every artwork. Packing is bespoke: every painting, work on paper or object is assessed and packed separately according to the most suitable and safe method. We take into account size, technique, condition and vulnerability of the work.
Where necessary we use extra protective materials, robust bespoke packaging and professional transport solutions, so that your purchase arrives safely and in optimal condition.
