Description from the seller

The cigarette - Reclining female nude
early 20th century
oil on wooden panel cm 70 x 100,
with frame 78 x 108
Born in the Sassi district near Turin in 1881,
Oreste Garaccioni learned painting from Giuseppe Cavalla,
one of the best-known portraitists in the Piedmontese milieu at that time.
In 1910 he first exhibited at the Promotrice Genovese the painting ‘Reflection’.
His artistic output, though extremely heterogeneous, concentrates mainly on portraiture. Among the most recurring subjects is, as in the present painting, a girl with black hair depicted in a pose of abandonment, displaying her statuesque body and looking directly at the observer with a brazen yet hypnotic expression.
The painting was purchased at auction several years ago and since then has always remained in the owner's residence.
Shipping is carried out via courier with professional packing
The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and does not constitute an integral part of the work. Any damage to the frame will not be a valid reason for claims or order cancellations.
