Italian-made console with a radica veneer front, kingwood legs, and a glass marbled top, dating to 1940–1950 and in good condition with signs of age.
Description from the seller
Elegant Italian burr walnut bedside cabinet – Top in marbled glass – Early 20th century
Elegant small sideboard belonging to the refined Italian production of the early 20th century, realized according to the rationalist taste of the period with references to the Bauhaus movement, where functionality, balance of proportions and the value of materials merge into a single piece of furniture.
The piece stands out for the magnificent front veneering in burl wood (radica), characterized by spectacular natural figuring in intense amber and mahogany tones, making each surface unique and unrepeatable. The soft lines and rounded corners confer elegance and lightness to the whole, while the two doors are embellished with bronze ring handles, sober and perfectly integrated into the design of the piece.
The body rests on slender kingwood legs, enhanced by bronze tips, a construction detail that underscores refinement and testifies to the quality of Italian craftsmanship of the era.
The top is made of glass decorated with a marbled effect, a solution highly appreciated in 1930s–1940s design, capable of combining practicality and elegance.
Thanks to its compact dimensions and extraordinary stage presence, the furniture can be used as a nightstand, bar cabinet, occasional table, or small entryway cabinet, fitting naturally into both period interiors and contemporary spaces.
The quality of materials, careful workmanship and the balance of proportions make it a piece of notable interest for collectors and enthusiasts of Italian design of the 20th century.
