Description from the seller

TITLE: MAGNIFICENT AND MONUMENTAL VENEZIAN TRUMEAU IN ROOT WOOD – HEIGHT 260 CM
DESCRIPTION:
A masterpiece of elegance and visual impact for exclusive interiors.
Are you looking for a unique piece of furniture capable of catching the eye and radically transforming the atmosphere of a drawing room, study, or an important library? This extraordinary Trumeau (stepped with rise) in two bodies is the perfect answer.
Made in the mid-20th century by Italian cabinetmakers in full Venetian Baroque / Louis XV style, the piece bears no signatures or inscriptions, presenting itself as a work of high craftsmanship. With its impressive 260 cm height, it stands as a monumental item with superb scenic impact, ideal for enhancing rooms with high ceilings.
Strengths and Details of Excellence:
Splendid Root Wood Veneering: The entire external surface is clad in precious root wood (walnut/olive) arranged in geometric reserves and herringbone patterns. The spectacular natural grain creates a play of warm, vivid, luxurious tones.
Fluid and Elegant Lines: The furniture features a complex shaped and curved construction, visible on both the front and the sides. Nothing is square; every line follows the sinuous, seven-hundred-style opulence.
Coordinated Premium Upholstery: The interior of the upper rise and the bottom of the main drawers are elegantly lined with a refined light, glossy damask fabric, perfect for highlighting the contents.
Three Pieces in One (Maximum Functionality):
1 The Lower Body: A spacious chest with three large drawers, featuring magnificent handles and bronze fittings with foliate motifs.
2 The Central Rise: The drop-front opens to reveal a splendid inner compartment (stipo) with four root-wood document drawers and open compartments, perfect as a secretary or writing nook.
3 The Upper Rise: A majestic two-door display cabinet with glass front mirrors.
Author’s Crown: The piece is crowned at the top by a lavish carved crest with volutes, centering a small original shaped mirror.
Security: The doors, drawers, and drop-front are equipped for lockable closure with integrated locks.
Monumental Dimensions:
Maximum height: 260 cm
Maximum width: 130 cm
Depth (closed): 62 cm
Condition:
The furniture is in excellent overall vintage condition. Structurally sound, solid, and ready to be placed in a home. All movable elements (doors, drawers, drop-front) operate smoothly. Only very slight and normal signs of time on the surface testify to its history and authenticity from the mid-1900s (note a slight natural age crack on the paneling of the crest, beneath the upper mirror, which does not affect aesthetics or stability in any way). Clean internal fabric, intact glass and mirrors. The rear photos show the wood’s solidity and health.
TRANSPORT NOTE: To facilitate movement, relocation, and delivery, the piece can be divided into two separate sections (the base chest and the glass display rise detach easily).
Shipping/Pickup Info:
Given the monumentality and value of the piece, pickup on site in the Milan province is exclusively offered; the seller ensures maximum cooperation if the buyer prefers to arrange their own special transport company or trusted private courier.
