Description from the seller
Manual table-top hand coffee grinder with flywheel – Delft-style ceramic – second half of the 20th century
Original and scenographic manual table-top coffee grinder, characterized by an elaborate cast-iron mechanism with a large side flywheel and exposed bevel gears.
The central body is made of white ceramic, decorated in blue with evocative Dutch landscapes, windmills, homes and birds, following the decorative tradition of the Delft style. The upper structure and the shaped base are in wood, while the ground coffee is collected in the front compartment, also in wood and equipped with a metal knob.
The mechanism is functional: operating the crank, the large flywheel regularly drives the gears and the grinding system.
The upper central stud lacks the end cap nut. This element essentially had an aesthetic function and its absence does not compromise the grinder’s operation.
The wooden bottom was damaged and has been previously repaired by gluing. Cracks, signs of repair, scratches, discoloration and normal signs of wear are still visible. The upper stud and some metal parts show surface oxidation.
Materials:
* cast iron and metal;
* decorated ceramic;
* wood;
* metal drawer knob.
The object shows overall signs of time and use compatible with its vintage nature. Please carefully observe all photographs, which detail the condition, the missing nut and the repair of the base and constitute an integral part of the description.
A coffee grinder with strong decorative presence, ideal for collectors of antique kitchen utensils or as a decorative accessory in rustic, vintage and country settings.
The lot will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
