Antique 18th-century single-hand lantern clock, dating from 1730–1740
A particularly beautiful French lantern clock from 1725–1750, Avignon region.
Completely original. Going work with anchor escapement, iron pendulum with brass bob, running about 24 hours.
Half-hour strike with a stop-disc on a bronze bell.
Iron lighters, anchor, pendulum suspension, bell hammer and bell support.
Early bronze casting with a forward-looking cock and in a medallion a portrait of a young Louis XV,
The movement housing is brass, with a bronze casting.
Dimensions: total height including bell: 33 cm. Heavy bronze dial plate 3.5 mm thick with a diameter of 19 cm. Casting piece 10x15 cm. Case depth 12 cm, including pendulum suspension 20 cm.
The clock has been serviced where necessary and is in perfect running order.
The whole exudes authentic craftsmanship. Movement weight 3.7 kg.
Weights and counterweights of the movement 4 kg. Pendulum 600 g.
Supplied with weights, pendulum, and metal mounting bracket.
Total weight approx. 10 kg. Preferably collected in Teuge, Netherlands.
